This accession, collected by Commissioner Stuart M. Hodgson, consists of a variety of unrelated material. Included in the collection is the transcript of an interview between [Clarence?] Johnson and [Des?] Fogg. The subject of the interview is Mr. Johnson's work aboard the ships "Emma" and "Nigalik". Also included in the collection are 5 unrelated photographs. The photographs include images of: Herbert Charles Wilson, speaker of the NWT Legislative Assembly from 1883-1888, Gordon Robertson, Game Wardens at Fort Smith, the unveiling of a plaque at the Northern United Place in Yellowknife and the NWT Council.

Records date from 1888-1991 and consist of published reports, pamphlets, brochures and bound ordinances. The pamphlets and brochures relate to the Legislative Assembly's operations, symbology, projects, interest in a pipeline and talks of forming a new territory (Nunavut). Records also include the rules of the preceding body, the Council of the Northwest Territories, as well as the rules of the Assembly from 1984 to 1991. There are published reports on priorities for the North, election reports, electoral boundaries, administrative structure for Nunavut, a spousal assault task force report, and a Denedeh government proposal for restructuring of the Government of the Northwest Territories.
Also included in this accession are ordinances dated 1888 and 1895 and bound ordinances dating 1950 through 1981. There is also a book of statutes from 1985.

This accession consists of one photograph of Hugh St. Quenton Cayley (Saskatchewan Archives number R-A6914). The image was copied from a composite photograph of the members of the 2nd Legislative Assembly for the Northwest Territories, 1891 (Saskatchewan Archives number R-B1490).

The textual records consist of 3 files. The first file is of correspondence of the Eldorado Mining and Refining Company, Eldorado Gold Mines Ltd. and El Bonanza Mining Corp. Ltd. related to administrative matters (1934-1944). Includes some correspondence of Gilbert and Charles Labine. The second file contains the ballot of 12 candidates for the Aklavik Advisory Council (1969). The third file has part of a diary in Inuktitut (1955), 2 permits to enter the Reindeer Reserve, and 7 photographs in very bad condition which may have come from the collection of the National Archives of Canada.

This accession consists of textual records relating to "Al" Stephens electoral campaign as the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) candidate for the Yukon-Mackenzie District in the 1949 federal election. Documents include statements of expenditures by Stephens during the campaign and a receipt for the $200 deposit paid by him to be acclaimed as an official candidate. There is also a letter from P. Butterfield, a CCF organiser in the Yukon, which discusses how the campaign on behalf of the CCF went in the Yukon. The letter also discusses Stephens expense claims and Butterfield's decision to alter them.

They were produced by the 1st through the 67th sessions (1st to 8th Councils) of the Council of the Northwest Territories, the predecessor to the Legislative Assembly.

This accession consists of one (oversize) Rural Preliminary List of Electors for Rural Polling Division No. 17, Yellowknife (annotated, 29 June 1953) collected by Tom Doornbos.

This accession consists of Council of the Northwest Territories records and Legislative Assembly of the Northwest Territories records which fill gaps in current holdings. The records include Tabled Documents, Sessional Papers, Information Items, Recommendations to Council, Requests for Reference, Committee Reports, Petitions, Responses to Petitions, Responses to Written Questions, and miscellaneous related documents.

The material includes memorabilia from the 1973 Legislative Ball at the fictional "Fort Michener", a certificate in the name of Raymond the Raven, Pete Baker's certificate of election to the Council of the Northwest Territories, a commemorative brochure on Martin Frobisher signed by Capt. C. Frobisher, a notice concerning the establishment of the St. John Ambulance in the Northwest Territories, and a public notice concerning land ownership by the Chiefs in Council. These records were collected by Commissioner Stuart M. Hodgson.

The textual records are comprised of one pamphlet about the community of Pine Point. The photographs are all of former Pine Point town councillors.

This accession consists of one report entitled "Northerners of Renown". This report contains short biographical notes on Peter Baker, Archie McMullen, John H. Parker, Oliver Lawson Stanton, R. J. "Jack" Stevens, W. Leigh Brintnell, A. J. "Bert" Boxer, Gordon Ingraham, Henry Busse, George Pinsky, Arthur Umbach, Ernest Boffa, Norman W. Byrne, J. H. Sissons, J. Murray "Jock" McMeekan, and G. Gordon Latham.

This accession consists of an annotated copy of the "Summary of Report of the Advisory Commission on the Development of Government in the Northwest Territories" (Carrothers Commission 1966) and a complete sequence of Tuesday Letters (8 Dec. 1964 to 16 Jan. 1967), which were informal newsletters from Mr. Sivertz to the members of the NWT Council.

Records include photographs of a group of people that may have been taken in Ottawa in August 1965 at an official political function. Former Commissioners Ben G. Sivertz and Stuart Hodgson and Father Bern Will Brown appear in the photographs. The two photographs are signed on verso by Ben G. Sivertz.

This accession consists of one colour photo of the Commissioner and Council of the Northwest Territories for 1967-1970.

Accession consists of the itinerary of Govenor General of Canada, Roland Michener's visit to the Northwest Territories from August 17-24, 1970. There is also the itinerary of NWT Commissioner, John Parker's tour of Keewatin South from April 20-23, 1982.

Records include photocopies of political cartoons drawn by Antoine Mountain.

The record is that of a proclaimation signed by Robert Welch, Provincial Secretary and Minister of Citizenship of Ontario, on behalf of Premier John Robarts to mark the NWT Centennial.
