The records were from the Churchill Administration and transferred by the Cambridge Bay Regional Office.
Records consist of two ledgers dating from 1897-1907. The location of the store where these ledgers were used is unknown, but it is possible that they originate from the Hislop and Nagle in Fort Rae as George Buffum may have collected them during the time when he ran his trading post. The ledgers itemize furs traded for other goods.
Buffum, GeorgeRecords are comprised of oversized ledgers containing Hunting and Trapping Reports and Fur Export Tax Reports from across the Northwest Territories. The records indicate big game harvest, fur trade activities and where furs were exported. The ledgers include trading, hunting and trapping returns from Wood Buffalo Park, Franklin District, Keewatin District and the Mackenzie District.
