This accession, collected by Commissioner Stuart M. Hodgson, consists of a variety of unrelated material. Included in the collection is the transcript of an interview between [Clarence?] Johnson and [Des?] Fogg. The subject of the interview is Mr. Johnson's work aboard the ships "Emma" and "Nigalik". Also included in the collection are 5 unrelated photographs. The photographs include images of: Herbert Charles Wilson, speaker of the NWT Legislative Assembly from 1883-1888, Gordon Robertson, Game Wardens at Fort Smith, the unveiling of a plaque at the Northern United Place in Yellowknife and the NWT Council.

This accession consists of records relating to the development of a new constitution for the western part of the Northwest Territories, in anticipation of the division with Nunavut, by the Commission for Constitutional Development. Much of the Commission's work related to conducting community hearings, receiving submissions, and issuing reports of recommendations.

The records include administrative records such as terms of reference, incorporation documents, bylaws, dissolution documents, meeting minutes, correspondence, the "How Can We Live Together" public discussion paper, press releases, news clippings, contractor and secondment agreements, contribution agreements, budgets and workplans, financial statements, travel expense summaries, and purchase order records.

The records also include hearing and reporting records such as written submissions, presentations and speaking notes, verbatim transcripts of community hearings, hearing schedules, research and reference materials, workshop records, and records relating to the "Towards Our Common Future" discussion paper, Issue Summary Report, Interim Report, and "Working Toward A Common Future" final report.

Records include two productions of Goldi Productions Ltd., "They Fish the Great Slave" and "Dene Family". "They Fish the Great Slave" was produced by Arctic Films and John Goldi, directed by John Goldi, and narrated by Mick Mallon. The subject of the film is commercial fishing on the Great Slave Lake, and features Clifford Bird, Johnny Nault, and Total Mayo. "Dene Family" is a Goldi Productions Film from the Northern Lifestyle Series and was produced with the support of the NWT Dept. of Education and Canada Council Exploration. The film depicts the lifestyle of the Marlowe family of Snowdrift.

Inside the folders are charts illustrating daylight/twilight/darkness distribution at 66 degrees and 68 degrees North and two internal memorandums about Aklavik and Port Radium written by Margaret R. Montgomery for the Northern Operational Research Section, Department of National Defence. Also in the folders are three maps (0001) Hydrographic chart of Great Bear Lake, (0002) site plan of Port Radium, and (0003) Road & Rail Routes in the Northwest.

Records include photographs that were in an album compiled by members of the Sanavisak Guild in Pine Point. The accession also contains the minutes of a meeting held on September 8, 1965 to discuss the formation of the guild; two guild newsletters, one from March 1982 and the other from 1983; and the programme for the guild's 10th Anniversary dinner and dance. The photographs document many of the activities of the Sanavisak Guild in Pine Point between 1969 and 1984. The majority of the images are well identified. Activities depicted include craft and bake sales, Christmas parties and floats decorated by the guild for the annual Pine Days parade and celebrations.
